The Recipe Box Swap

These scones are sure to warm you on the inside. SO simple to make! I make a little whipping creme to put on top. Yummy.

Date Maple Drop Scones
2 cups flour, unbleached
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/3 cup unsalted butter
1 beaten egg
1/3 cup maple syrup or maple flavored syrup
1/3 cup half & half
1/2 cup snipped pitted dates

In a mixing bowl combine flour & baking powder. Cut butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbles.
In a small bowl combine the egg, maple syrup, and half & half. Stir in dates, then add the wet mixture all at once to the dry mixture and stir until the ingredients cling together.
Drop the batter onto grease baking sheet. Bake 400 degrees - 12-15 minutes.
Makes approx 16 scones.
Enjoy!
